Contemporary Christian Music

For today’s Monday’s Many Thanksgivings I am going to focus on something that has helped me tremendously throughout our journey – Contemporary Christian Music.

I am a big believer in the idea that you are what you eat, but I am not talking about food here. You are what you choose to ingest into your heart and mind. Because of that, for years, I have been careful about what type of music I feast on.

I love listening to music! It is a great stress reliever to turn up my music and sing as loudly as I want. Or as I am running, intensely focus on the lyrics and loose myself in the song. It calms my soul.

At the start of our struggles, Contemporary Christian music was not as readily available. Christian bookstores carried it, but that was about it. Thankfully, it has become increasingly popular. Through the work of KLove, I can immerse myself in it wherever I go and with Spotify, I can put together all sorts of playlists to fit my mood of the moment.

I have found the more I surround myself with inspirational, encouraging words, the more those words pop into my head throughout the day. In my darkest of moments, it has been incredibly helpful to find applicable songs to remind me that I am a child of God, that he loves me and to not give up. I would play them on repeat until I could settle myself down.

I have created a page that is dedicated to various songs that I have found helpful along the way. I put it together so I, and hopefully you, can click and find an array of inspiration to lift our spirits. If you have a song that has encouraged you, leave me a comment either here or on that page and I will get it on there. The more the merrier! I hope you find it helpful!
